ContainerPort Group’s C.L.A.S.S. Program

ContainerPort Group’s C.L.A.S.S. program was conceived in 2001 as a means of recognizing and rewarding those employees who make a special effort to excel in several areas which help CPG succeed: attendance, safety, customer satisfaction, longevity and staying substance-free.

Now in its tenth year, C.L.A.S.S. continues to thrive; its success is measurable by means of improved attendance and safety records, increased milestone anniversaries, positive feedback from our customers, and a heightened awareness of our dedication to a drug-free workplace.

The key elements of our program:

CPG “Team of the Year” Award:
Our “Team of the Year” competition is an important centerpiece to our C.L.A.S.S. program. The award is presented to the CPG Team which best represents the attainment of our ContainerPort Group Mission Statement: “Become Intermodal’s Best By Achieving Excellence In All We Do.”

Longevity Award:
Our employees are our number one asset and integral to our company’s success. CPG recognizes the achievement of the following milestone anniversaries: 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years and 30+ years of service to our company. All milestone achievers receive a commemorative certificate. “First years” receive a CPG pin; 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30+ year achievers receive a gift to commemorate their years of service.

Attendance Award:
CPG functions at our finest when we work as a team – so we need everyone at work each day to share the daily load! Our attendance award honors those individuals who come in and give their best every day! The attendance award program honors and recognizes employees who achieve perfect attendance for the year. Award winners receive a special “thank you” gift for their excellent attendance ethic.

Safety Award:
Safety continues to be a core value at CPG and is very important to our success and reputation. We are dedicated to protecting the safety of our employees and the public community in which we operate by actively promoting a safe work environment through training, outreach and education, along with continued process improvement in workplace safety. We believe that “results” provide the most powerful and demonstrable evidence of a successful safety program and “safety culture” in a company.

CPG recognizes that a great deal of hard work and a dedicated team of employees need to work together to achieve recognition in these important safety areas. Accordingly, Safety Awards will be presented to ALL cities that achieve “results” in each of these areas and a special Safety Team of the Year award will be presented to the city that achieves and deserves special recognition for overall success in both areas.

Substance Free:
We provide and maintain a safe work place free from the use of drugs and alcohol - it’s our policy. To be eligible for any of the C.L.A.S.S. awards, employees must be in voluntary compliance with the company drug and alcohol testing policy. Our drug and alcohol testing policy covers the following drug and alcohol tests: pre-employment, reasonable cause, post-accident-injury, random, and return-to-work.
