How did you get your start in this industry?
D.H. - "I was introduced to a family owned trucking company was I was just 19 years old. Ever since then, I have lived and breathed this industry with my biggest tenure at Maersk Line. I went from trucking to ocean to NVOCC and back to trucking. It is now my favorite passion."

What attracted you to CPG?
D.H. - "I was attracted to CPG’s great leadership and customer-focused attitude. This is a family-owned company with a strong foundation, and I know there is longevity here. The company culture is very genuine, positive, and supportive. I saw it first-hand throughout my journey and I am excited to spread my talents in the Gulf Region, where my background lies."

What does your day-to-day look like?
D.H. - "People call me the Energizer Bunny. I thrive off my passion for the business and it’s what I do each and every day. I indulge in customer requests, have a full day of customer meetings and tend to their needs. I love early mornings and late nights and do my absolute best to work with customers on a case-by-case basis with specialized attention."

What advice would you give to someone interested in your field?
D.H. - "Believe in your service and follow through with promises. Customers want and need loyalty and good service."

Tell us about your mentor.
D.H. - "I have a strong mentor that has enlightened my career. Ron Doyle, now with Panalpina, has helped me fall back in love with the trucking side of our industry. He helped me as a woman, filling the gaps on the best ways to market yourself and your services simultaneously. He also stressed the importance of learning the business inside and out. This way, my customers can always be confident in my ability to answer their questions, or to find information for them. I will forever be grateful for his advice and wisdom."

Do you have any guilty pleasures?
D.H. - "Yes, to name a few: X-Files, pod-casts, running and rugby. I spend my weekends as a rugby super fan. I love watching my husband and son play and referee. When I’m not watching rugby, I am an avid runner, having just completed an Ultra marathon.” Ultra Marathon Definition: A long distance running race that is longer than a traditional marathon (26 miles).”It wasn’t my first and it’s not my last. I love the challenge and healthy lifestyle. Everyone is welcome to join me in my next race!"
